RESPIRATION & CHEST TRAUMA

Respiration/Breathing is the 3rd phase of the "MARCH" and/or "XABCDE". In this phase, we look and correct breathing issues of our patients with different methods listed below.

VENTED CHEST SEAL

Check you type of chest seal. You may have vented or non-vented. You may have one or two seals in your packet. Never throw away the packet, it could be used as an occlusive dressing if supplies are low.

NEEDLE CHEST DECOMPRESSION

The Needle Chest Decompression device should be a 14- or 10-gauge 3.25" needle. Pay close attention to the placement of your needle when performing this life saving intervention. Diagnose and treat it aggressively! DO NOT MISS THIS INJURY!
